Is WORC just a 12-Step program?
Although White Oak Recovery Center heavily integrates 12-step modalities into treatment, our residential treatment center goes above and beyond a 12-step program. WORC custom-tailors treatment plans collaboratively with each resident, molding it according to the individual’s unique needs and progress during treatment.

What should I bring with me?
Personal Belongings to Bring:
- Identification such as your driver’s license, photo ID, passport, or birth certificate

- Your prescription medications (at least a 30-day supply) and a list of all your medicines and dosages

- 7 to 10 days’ worth of clothing, including comfortable clothing, sleepwear, and workout or gym attire

What is the weather and climate in Los Angeles, California?
The climate is typically dry, and the weather usually varies from 58° F to 80° F.
The summer season runs from May through October with clear skies and warm temperatures. During this season, there is practically no rainfall. July is the driest month and the hottest, along with August, having an average temperate of 76° F and a high of 85° F.
The winter season runs from November through April, with partly cloudy skies and a higher chance of rain. The months that receive the most rainfall are January and February when the highest daily chance of precipitation is 21%. December and January are the coldest months, with an average temperature of 54° F and a daily low temperature of around 49° F.

Yes, White Oak Recovery Center has a medical doctor, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, a family nurse practitioner, and an overnight registered nurse on staff.
Is family treatment available?
Absolutely. White Oak Recovery Center is a firm believer in family therapy. Our licensed family therapist conducts sessions with the resident’s cooperation.
What kind of diets are catered to at White Oak Recovery Center?
We provide chef-catered meals that accommodate any dietary need and offer wholesome nutrition. Our five specialty catered diets include vegetarian, pescatarian, low-carb, high-protein, and gluten-free.
Can I smoke at the facility?
Yes, in designated areas.
Will there be a TV in my room?
Yes, there are TVs in every room, including the living rooms and dens.
Is there a private room available?
Yes. Arrangements must be made before entering treatment.
May I receive calls from loved ones while I am in treatment?
Yes. A consent form must be on file for the person.

Yes, residents may receive correspondence through email and mail.
After Treatment
Does White Oak Recovery Center offer after-care or post-treatment?
Every resident walks out of White Oak Recovery Center’s doors with a complete relapse prevention plan to attend partial hospitalization programs (PHP) or another type of outpatient program appropriate for them. Case managers and therapists coordinate everything, from finding convenient support groups to ensuring you continue to attend 12-step meetings and work on your recovery after residential treatment. We also check in with you regularly and encourage attending our monthly alumni meetings, even if it’s virtual, because you are from out of state.
